About The Family Camper

Thank you for visiting ‘The Family Camper’. This is a site to educate you on the joys and how-to of camping with your family. As Americans, we are beginning to forget how to spend time together without ‘electronic’ or man-made stimulus and that a great weekend was spent together out in the woods, learning from each other and nature, and teaching the same to our kids. I hope that with this blog you will be encouraged to go out and make the memories you and your kids will remember forever.

My name is Jon, along with my wife, our 7 yr old daughter and our Red Bone Coon Hound, Mr. Leon we love camping. We spend most our free time out in the woods. I am working to teach my daughter all the things I learned when I was her age – something I know she’ll remember for the rest of her life. I am no outdoor ‘expert’ by any means, and the tips and techniques I use work for me in my situation and may not be the best for you, do your research and find what works best for your family, then let me know so I can pass it on to others. Together we can get off the couch, away from the TV and back to our roots in the outdoors with our families.
